Klamath County Launches Junior Advisory Committee Positions for Local Students

In a forward-thinking move to empower the next generation of leaders, the Klamath County Board of Commissioners has approved the creation of junior member positions on both the Klamath County Tourism Grant and Economic Development Grant Review Panels.

This exciting new opportunity is open to all high school students residing in Klamath County and aims to give youth a direct voice in shaping the community's future. By serving a one-school-year term, junior members will engage in real-world civic processes and contribute meaningfully to discussions on local tourism and economic development grant funding.

"We're thrilled to invite students to take an active role in the decision-making that impacts their community," said the Board of Commissioners. "This is more than a learning experience - it's a chance to lead."

Click Here to apply. The application period closes on May 16, 2025. The County hopes to select and place the first two junior members in time for this Fall's grant cycles.

Students with an interest in civic engagement, community development, or simply making a difference are encouraged to apply.
