Winnipeg, MB - At 6:38 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a side-by-side home in the 200 block of Mapleglen Drive.
At the scene, crews found heavy smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters used an offensive strategy, and they declared the fire under control at 7:03 a.m.
All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. Paramedics assessed three patients and transported one to hospital in stable condition. The City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to provide temporary support to displaced residents.
Preliminary observations suggest the cause of the fire is accidental. No damage estimates are available.
