NOPD Arrests Second Suspect in Seventh District Homicide

The NOPD has arrested a second suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred last month in the Seventh District.

Today, November 8, 2024,18-year-old Diamond Ebbs was apprehended in St. Tammy Parish and is awaiting extradition back to New Orleans.

On October 31, 2024, 19-year-old Mekhai Pierce was arrested by NOPD in New Orleans and is currently being held at the Orleans Justice Center.

Both are facing second degree murder charges in connection with the shooting death of 36-year-old Manuel Jones. Jones was gunned down in the 4700 block of Bonita Drive on October 21, 2024.
