Alabama's Total Single and Family Premiums Rank Significantly Below National Average

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama is proud latest reports show Alabama has the seventh lowest average annual family premium among employers and the fifth lowest average annual single premium nationwide. That is $856 less than the National average for Single premiums and $2,727 less than the National Average for Family premiums. This is according to the federal government's 2025 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) conducted by the Department of Health and Human Services.
