ITD asks for feedback on updated improvements along Chinden Boulevard by April 23

BOISE-The Idaho Transportation Department, in partnership with Garden City, invites the public to review and provide feedback on updated safety and drainage improvement concepts for Chinden Boulevard (US 20/26).

The design concept is available for review on ITD'sproject websitefrom now through April 23.

Chinden Boulevard currently lacks modern safety features and adequate stormwater controls, creating challenges for people walking, biking, and driving. These deficiencies also contribute to pooling, runoff, and localized flooding near private property.

This is the second opportunity for the public to provide feedback. Last summer, ITD and Garden City shared the initial vision, and community input helped shape the current plan.

Based on public feedback, ITD updated the design concepts, including removing the previously proposed center median, refining stormwater treatments, replacing free right-turn lanes with yield-controlled designs to reduce conflict points, and adjusting pedestrian crossings to balance safety and traffic flow.

Currently construction is not funded for this project.
