Road Striping Project
Beginning Monday, March 23, the City of Yuma will conduct citywide road striping to improve roadway safety and visibility. Drivers are advised to use caution, watch for wet paint, avoid driving over freshly painted markings, and follow posted traffic control signs and cones in work areas.
Avenue 4E, B Canal to 28th Street
The City is replacing a sewer line on Avenue 4E between the B Canal and 28th Street. Work requires road closure in the area. Business access remains available during the work. The project is expected to be completed by early April.
4th Street to 6th Street, 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue
Beginning March 23, a contractor working for the City will replace sewer lines on 4th Street, 5th Street, and 6th Street between 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenue. Work will require road closures on all three streets. Drivers are advised to follow posted traffic control signs in the area. The project is expected to be completed in early May.
20th Place to 19th Street, 8th Avenue to 4th Avenue
Beginning March 2, a contractor working for the City will install new underground water, storm, and sewer infrastructure, along with asphalt replacement and construction of concrete sidewalks, ramps, and valley gutters within the project area between 20th Place and 19th Street, from 8th Avenue to 4th Avenue. Work will require a road closure. Drivers are advised to follow traffic control. Work is expected to be completed by late June.
George Bell Avenue & Claxton Street
A contractor working for the City will work on installing a new water main and street repairs on George Bell Avenue and Claxton Street (near Avenue B and 8th Street) starting February 23. Work will be done in multiple phases. Claxton Street currently has a partial road closure, with access maintained for local traffic only. Drivers are advised to follow traffic control. Work is expected to be completed by late June.

Terra Bella Parkway from Avenue 5 1/2E to Victoria Way.
40th Street from Avenue 3E to Avenue 6E.
Avenue 5E from 28th Street to 40th Street.
Avenue 4E from 40th Street to north dead end.
Avenue 3 1/2E from 32nd Street to 44th Street.
Avenue 3E from Gila Ridge Road to 40th Street.

Other utility projects and encroachment permits
Avenue B, 20th Street (GCE)
Beginning April 2, crews will work on a utilities manhole at the intersection of Avenue B and 20th Street. Lane closures will be in place on both streets during the project. Work is expected to be completed by early April.
Avenue A, 28th Street (Accurate Excavation)
Beginning March 24, crews will install a storm drain at Ray Smucker Park. Work will require closure of the southbound lane on Avenue A near 28th Street. Drivers are advised to follow posted traffic control signs in the area. Work is expected to be completed by late April.
16th Street, Avenue C (DPE Construction)
Beginning March 30, crews will remove existing driveway concrete as part of work to install a new turn lane on 16th Street near Avenue C. The eastbound lane on 16th Street will be closed during the work. Work is expected to be completed by late April.
Avenue B, 8th Street to 12th Street (Private Contractor)
Beginning on January 20, crews will conduct sewer work along Avenue B between 8th Street and 12th Street. Lane restrictions will be in place. Drivers are advised to follow traffic control. Work is expected to be completed by early May.
Routine Maintenance, Tree Trimming, and Survey Work (APS)
APS crews will be conducting routine maintenance, tree trimming, and survey work throughout the year in various locations within the City. Motorists are advised to watch for work zones in unexpected areas and follow all posted traffic control.
Fiber optic installations (Allo)
Communications line installations are taking place in areas designated for utility easements in numerous and various locations within the City limits and surrounding vicinity. Motorists are advised to watch for work zones in unexpected areas.
