STONY BROOK, NY, November 3, 2025 - Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) has received national recognition from Healthgrades for its outstanding clinical care in stroke, cardiac, and joint replacement services. Each year, the health platform evaluates risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top hospitals in key specialty areas. The evaluation of SBUH includes data from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, which make up the Stony Brook Medicine healthcare system. This places SBUH within the top 5% in the nation for stroke care and the top 10% for cardiac and joint replacement care - reflecting the hospital's outstanding clinical performance and distinguishes it as one of the country's leading hospitals. Within New York State, SBUH ranked in the top 3 for Stroke Care, Cranial Neurosurgery and Neurosciences in 2026.
