Garberville Library Mural Project Completed

The Humboldt County Public Library is thrilled to announce a new mural project has been completed at the Garberville Library.

The Garberville Library Mural Project was a partnership between the Humboldt County Public Library, Southern Humboldt Unified School District, South Fork High School and Friends of the Garberville Library to bring some color and creativity to the Garberville Library and Humboldt County Sheriff's Office substation, located at 715 Cedar St. in Garberville.

With help from community volunteers, including participants from the Garberville Library's Creative Spaces art classes and students from South Fork High School, the wall below the Garberville Campus Complex's walkway has been transformed into a mural, creating the illusion of a bright and colorful bookshelf. Work on the mural began on Saturday, May 17 and was completed on Saturday, June 7.

"I am so excited to see this project come to fruition at our library in Garberville," said Second District Supervisor and Chair of the Board Michelle Bushnell. "This mural is about more than just art. It is also about bringing people together and creating something lasting for the entire community to enjoy. I would like to thank everyone involved in making this mural project happen, particularly Garberville Library staff, South Fork Hight School students and every community member who volunteered."

The Garberville Library Mural Project was made possible thanks to the generous support of Friends of the Garberville Library. The Humboldt County Public Library would like to thank them for their ongoing support and partnership.
