Olive-Harvey College Vaccine Event This Weekend

CDPH will host a vaccination event on Saturday, October 10 at Olive-Harvey College (10001 S. Woodlawn Ave.) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no-cost COVID-19 and flu vaccines for the whole family. Everyone ages 6 months and over are recommended to get vaccinated. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is encouraged. Register on the CDPH GetVaxChi Registration website.

Why get vaccinated now? It's your #1 defense against getting sidelined this season. Whether it's holiday gatherings, football games, or quality time with loved ones, don't let preventable illness keep you from the moments that matter.

Healing Arts Summit This Weekend, Schedule Now Posted

On Saturday, October 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Healing Arts Chicago 2026 Summit returns to Malcolm X College (1900 W. Jackson Blvd.) for a free day centered on creativity, connection and the many ways art supports well-being. Open to the public, the summit will welcome artist and activist Tricia Hersey, founder of The Nap Ministry, to deliver the keynote address. .

Throughout the event, attendees can move through hands-on experiences such as yoga, dance, screen printing, visual journaling and sound healing, while joining conversations about how creative practices are strengthening community health and informing policy and care systems across Chicago.

CDPH Observes Indigenous Peoples' Day

Next Monday, October 12 is Indigenous Peoples' Day and CDPH offices and clinics will be closed in observation. Offices and clinics will re-open with normal business hours on Tuesday, October 13.
