Enhancing Coast Guard Technical Capacity Through Engine Maintenance Training in Berbera

Last week, the EUCAP Field Office in Somaliland conducted a five-day technical training for 15 Coast Guard officers drawn from multiple operational locations, including Berbera, Zeila, and Maydh. The training was held at the Coast Guard facility in Berbera and aimed to enhance the technical skills of participating personnel. The programme focused on practical, hands-on training related to the operation and maintenance of outboard engines. Key areas covered included routine engine servicing, basic repair techniques, structured troubleshooting approaches, and general engine functionality.

The activity forms part of ongoing efforts to support capacity development in maritime safety and operational effectiveness through technical skills enhancement.
