USDA Rural Development Celebrates Over a $5 Million Investment in Water Infrastructure for Brockway Borough

This Investment Will Help Provide Reliable Infrastructure for 6,012 People

(Harrisburg, Pa., May 21, 2026) - U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Pennsylvania Acting State Director Jeremy Wilson has announced that Brockway Borough Municipal Authority will receive $5.2 million in loan funds for critical water/wastewater upgrades.

"During Infrastructure Week, we appreciate how important reliable water systems are for our rural communities," said Wilson. "Rural Development assists in projects like these to ensure our neighbors always have access to safe drinking water."

Brockway Borough Municipal Authority is using funds USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal Loan funds to modernize its aging water plant. This investment will allow Brockway Borough Municipal Authority to upgrade and replace integral equipment and parts, ensuring the plant meets current Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection regulations and continues delivering safe, reliable water to the community.

USDA Rural Development can assist rural communities with the construction of water and waste facilities through the Water and Environmental Programs . These programs help rural communities to obtain the technical assistance and financing necessary to develop drinking water and waste disposal systems. Safe drinking water and sanitary waste disposal systems are vital not only to public health, but also to the economic vitality of rural America.
