UPDATE: Eastbound Main Street closed between 3rd and 5th Street reopening Wed. Dec. 17

(December 12, 2025) UPDATE: The previously announced closure of eastbound Main Street has been extended. Instead of opening this evening, eastbound Main Street will remain closed into next week. It is expected to reopen by 5p.m. on Wednesday, December 17. The revised announcement is as follows:

----------------------------

(December 5, 2025) As part of the City's downtown reconstruction project, eastbound Main Street will be closed between 3rd Street and 5th Street for ten days starting Monday, December 8, while pavers are being installed in the roadway. The road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17. Westbound Main St. will remain open (and drivers will notice that westbound traffic has now been shifted to primarily stay on the proper side of the median).

During this closure, traffic on eastbound Main St. will be diverted south on 3rd St., east on Elm St., and back north on 5th St. to go around the closure [see map (PDF)]. Detour signs will be posted.

Please use caution while driving in the work zone, or find an alternate route in advance. Use the Waze app to navigate around road closures. Click here to learn about Waze or install it on your smartphone.
