Burlison Encourages Missouri Students to Enter Congressional Art Competition

WASHINGTON - Congressman Eric Burlison (MO-07) today announced that his office is accepting submissions for the annual Congressional Art Competition, which is open to high school students in Missouri's 7th Congressional District.

The nationwide competition provides the winning student the opportunity to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. The winner will also be invited to Washington in June to attend a recognition ceremony. All constituent participants will receive a certificate of recognition from Rep. Burlison.

Students may submit artwork on any subject. An overall winner will be selected by votes from district constituents. In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 100th anniversary of Route 66, additional recognition will be given to top submissions reflecting these milestones.

The deadline to submit artwork is Friday, April 10.

More information about the competition, including submission guidelines, is available online.
