Humboldt County Children’s Author Festival Returns to Eureka Library on October 19

The Humboldt County Public Library is excited to announce that the Humboldt County Children's Author Festival is coming to the Eureka Library.

On Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. children will have the opportunity to meet the 25 participating festival authors and illustrators for a special book sale and autographing session at the Eureka Main Library, located at 1313 Third St. in Eureka.

For 50 years, the Humboldt County Children's Author Festival has brought artists and authors to the North Coast to engage with students in schools throughout Humboldt. The Humboldt County Library is proud to participate in this biennial event where children have the opportunity to meet the people who create books they love and be inspired.

About the Humboldt County Children's Author Festival

The Humboldt County Children's Author Festival began in 1975 with the goal of bringing published authors to local schools to talk with students about books, writing, and the business of being an author. The festival reinforces the idea that people create books and encourages children to see themselves as writers, not just readers. Originally intended as a one-time event, its popularity among students, parents, teachers, librarians and the public led to it becoming a biennial tradition. Learn more at authorfest.org.
