IFATCA Issues Statement of Support for American Controllers on International Day of the Controller 2025

Oct 20, 2025

In recognition of the International Day of the Controller, the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations (IFATCA) released this statement in support of American air traffic controllers, who are presently operating under enormous stress and distraction as they continue to be responsible for moving 35,000 flights with millions of passengers and many tons of cargo every day without pay, because of the government shutdown. IFATCA is the organization that represents more than 130 associations of air traffic controllers from around the world, with a combined membership of more than 50,000 air traffic controllers.

NATCA-Statement

NATCA thanks IFATCA for standing with these hardworking American controllers.

NATCA honors our members and thanks them for their unwavering commitment to aviation safety. This current situation is unacceptable. The government shutdown must end immediately.
