USDA Invests $406,000 toward the Ambulance Replacement Initiative in Dade County, Georgia

(Trenton, Ga., May 28, 2026) - U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Georgia State Director Joyce White today announced a $406,000.00 grant to replace an ambulance in Dade County, Georgia. The project was funded through Congressionally Directed Spending with USDA's Community Facilities Grant Program.

"Investments like this assist communities to afford equipment, vehicles, and services that improve the quality of life in rural areas," said White. "Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, USDA Rural Development is proud to be a partner to communities across rural Georgia to improve public safety and emergency prepardeness."

This rural development investment will be used to purchase a new ambulance to help improve reliability, reduce service disruptions, and ensure consistent emergency coverage for countywide 911 services. To celebrate this important accomplishment, today Rural Development Georgia Area Director Tamika Lucas presented county officials with a ceremonial $406,000.00 check. The County put forth an additional $420,725.00 toward the purchase.

"This funding represents a meaningful investment in the safety and well-being of Dade County residents," said Dade County, Georgia Executive Don Townsend. "We appreciate USDA Rural Development, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff's office, and our federal partners for supporting rural communities and helping ensure our emergency responders have the reliable equipment they need to serve the public effectively. This new ambulance will strengthen our EMS capabilities and help us continue providing quality emergency care throughout Dade County."

USDA Rural Development's Community Facilities Direct Loan & Grant Program provides affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas.

USDA Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS), also known as Community Project Funding (CPF), allows Members of Congress to designate federal funds directly to specific, localized projects. Administered primarily through USDA Rural Development, these grants target essential infrastructure, broadband deployment, and community facilities in rural and underserved areas.
