On October 1st, the Chinese Navy's hospital ship Ark Silk Road, carrying out the Mission Harmony-2025 task, made its first visit to Suva Port in Fiji. Chinese Ambassador to Fiji H.E. Mr. Zhou Jian led all staff members of the Embassy and was joined by over 200 participants, including Fiji's Military Commander Brigadier General Motufaga and other senior military officials, representatives of Chinese institutions in Fiji, as well as members of the Chinese community, at the welcoming ceremony.
Brigadier General Motufaga extended a warm welcome to the hospital ship's inaugural visit. He stated that this visit represents a concrete action to address healthcare challenges for the Fijian people, practice the friendly relations between the two nations, and jointly build the Health Silk Road. He expressed hopes for further deepening cooperation between the two sides to benefit more local residents.
Senior Colonel Peng Guliang, the Chinese commander, stated that the Ark Silk Road will adhere to the principles of peaceful development and mutual benefit. Through active exchanges with the Fijian side, it will convey the Chinese military's commitment to safeguarding lives and maintaining peace, contributing to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
During its stay, the Ark Silk Road will provide medical services to Fijian people and various outreach programs in communities and military camps.
