$1.3 million in support for WA veterans and their families

  • Ex-service organisations share in over $1.3 million through ANZAC Day Trust Grants 2025
  • More than $600,000 for continuation of wellbeing programs to veterans and their families
  • Cook Government is dedicated to making essential services accessible to every Western Australian no matter where they live

The Cook Government has awarded more than $1.3 million from the Anzac Day Trust to help Western Australian ex-service organisations (ESOs) deliver essential services.

The funding will enable the delivery of comprehensive support to Western Australian veterans and their families - covering employment, mental health, and respite services.

More than $500,000 was awarded to the RSL WA and Working Spirit partnership to continue the rollout of its Veteran Employment Program, now into its third year.

The program prepares veterans for employment outside of defence through workshops and includes a tailored Transition Employment Portal.

Legacy WA's Living Independently and Respite programs were awarded $400,000 to support several initiatives, including support for the partners of fallen soldiers and to ensure the Legacy Busselton Camp remains fit-for-use by defence and veteran families.

Almost $300,000 was committed to other ESOs to deliver targeted wellbeing support programs to veterans within the Perth, Peel, and Great Southern regions.

The Cook Government also provided over $20,000 to fund significant WA commemoration events in 2026 to ensure the appropriate recognition of service for WA veterans.

Comments attributed to Defence Industries Minister Paul Papalia:

"Western Australia's veterans and their families have made tremendous contributions to our community, and we are committed to supporting their wellbeing and future.

"We want to give our ex-service people every opportunity to thrive, whether it's through employment support, resilience programs, or vital community initiatives."
