The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of one person in northeast Lincoln.

Just after 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, officers were called to the area of N. 45th and Holdrege Streets for a single-vehicle crash with one occupant.

The impact caused the driver to be ejected who died at the scene. The victim's name is not being released currently pending next-of-kin notifications.

Damage to the wall and fire hydrant are estimated at $2,500 total.

The investigation is ongoing. LPD is asking any witnesses who saw the crash or have video of the incident to contact police at 402-441-6000 or if you want to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
