MURPHY, Texas (November 15, 2024) - Santa is gearing up to make his way down the streets of Murphy ahead of Christmas, continuing a tradition from the 80's.

Beginning on Monday, December 9, 2024, Santa will ride atop the fire engine each night (except Sunday's) waiving to the residents of Murphy! The rides will begin promptly at 6:30 pm, continuing until 8:30 pm. Santa will ride down every street in Murphy except for short culs-de-sac.

Santa will ride securely strapped to the engine, so he won't be able to disembark and interact with anyone. In order to keep Santa on schedule for his duties at the North Pole, the engine will not be able to stop for any length of time. Because Santa cannot leave his post, firefighters, members of their families, and possibly even some Council Members will be distributing wrapped candy by tossing it from the back of the fire engineer.

As a precaution, officials ask that parents accompany small children and keep an eye on them as Santa makes his way through the neighborhood.
