A group of 21 students from Frostburg State Universityrecently participated in HenHacks 2026, the fourth annual 24-hour hackathon hosted by the University of Delaware. The event brought together students from diverse academic backgrounds to collaborate, innovate and develop creative, technology-driven solutions. The group was accompanied by staff from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, including Stacy Wasselland Luma Alghamaz, as well as faculty member Steven Kennedy.
HenHacks 2026 welcomed hundreds of participants from more than 50 institutions across the region, creating a dynamic and competitive environment focused on creativity, problem-solving and hands-on learning. Frostburg students collaborated in teams to design and develop projects ranging from software applications to innovative prototypes.
In addition to building projects, participants attended workshops led by industry professionals, explored emerging technologies and received mentorship from experienced developers and sponsors throughout the competition. The event also offered valuable networking opportunities, allowing students to connect with peers and professionals while gaining insight into real-world applications of their skills.
Frostburg State University's participation in HenHacks reflects its ongoing commitment to innovation, experiential learning and student engagement in fields such as technology and entrepreneurship. Events like HenHacks empower students to apply classroom knowledge in practical settings, strengthen teamwork and build confidence in their abilities.
The group returned with completed projects, new connections and inspiration to continue exploring creative and technical pursuits.
