The Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that Commissioner Kathryn Whittington has been appointed to serve on several National Association of Counties (NACo) committees for the 2025-2026 term. The appointment was made by NACo President J.D. Clark, who recognized Commissioner Whittington for her ongoing commitment to county government and national leadership.
In his appointment letter, President Clark stated: "You were selected because of your commitment and dedication to NACo. Our strength is in our members, and your active involvement and leadership ensures that we continue to be the voice of America's counties."
Commissioner Whittington will work alongside county leaders from across the United States to shape and advance policies that impact local governments and residents nationwide. Her appointment aligns with NACo's 2025-2026 presidential initiative, "County Storytellers," which seeks to empower counties to use storytelling, technology, and data to build trust, foster connection, and inspire community engagement.
"It is an honor to be asked to serve at the national level and to represent the residents of Ashtabula County," said Commissioner Whittington. "This is an opportunity to help shape policy, share our local successes, and learn from the best practices of counties across the country."
The Board of Commissioners congratulates Commissioner Whittington on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to the benefits her continued leadership will bring to Ashtabula County and beyond.
