As part of the Maxwell Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Safety Upgrades project, City stormwater system work will be done this week. Drivers traveling on southbound on N. Ash St. will experience significant slowdowns between W. Indiana Ave. and W. Maxwell Ave. starting Tuesday, Sept. 9. This phase of the Maxwell Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Safety upgrades project will last through Friday, Sept. 12.

What to Expect:

  • Southbound lanes on Ash St. will be merge from three lanes to ONE LANE Sept. 9-12 between Augusta Ave. and Maxwell Ave.
  • Lane reductions likely to cause congestion on eastbound Northwest Blvd. and southbound Ash St.
  • Pedestrians may experience sidewalk detours.
  • Local access will be maintained.

Alternative Suggestions:

  • Use alternate arterial routes like Government Way, Monroe St. Washington St. or Division St. to bypass this area during peak traffic times.
  • Alter drive times to avoid traffic volume between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. if possible.
  • Utilize remote work if possible.

Please slow down for everyone's safety and make extra effort to support businesses impacted by this necessary work. Current obstruction information impacting drivers in the City is available on our construction webpage.
