The University of New Mexico Staff Council is inviting all staff to its annual Staff Appreciation Cookout, set for Wednesday, May 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mesa Vista Courtyard, Cornell Mall and Union Square on UNM's Main Campus.
The event is part of a long-standing tradition aimed at celebrating the hard work and dedication of UNM's staff across departments. This year's cookout includes expanded offerings, entertainment and opportunities to connect with leadership and colleagues.
Attendees can enjoy a green chile cheeseburger or veggie burger, with additional food lines added this year to shorten wait times. Music will be provided by a live DJ from noon to 1 p.m., and the annual Lobo family group photo will take place at 12:30 p.m., with staff encouraged to wear their favorite UNM shirts.
"Staff are the backbone of the university, and this event is one of the ways we show our appreciation," said Grace Faustino, event coordinator and staff council representative.
