Synovus appoints new Northwest Georgia advisory board members

ROME, Ga., Jan. 8, 2025 - Synovus has appointed two new Northwest Georgia advisory board members. Chris Pierce, president of Owen Security Solutions Inc., and Chris Twyman, managing partner with law firm Cox Byington Twyman LLP, joined the local advisory board on Jan. 1.

Pierce is president of Owen Security Solutions Inc., an electronic security company. With nearly 20 years in the banking industry, he served as president/CEO of North Georgia National Bank in Calhoun, Georgia, before joining Owen Security Solutions. A native of Gordon County, Pierce earned an associate degree from Reinhardt University and a bachelor's in business administration from Kennesaw State University. He sits on the board of the Gordon County Historical Society and is a member of the Reinhardt University Alumni Board of Governors.

Twyman is a managing partner with Cox Byington Twyman LLP law firm in Rome, Georgia. He leads the firm's litigation practice in commercial and general civil litigation, family law, criminal defense and education law, representing clients throughout Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee. Twyman earned a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and obtained his law degree from the University of Georgia. He is a master in the Clark-Carley Inn of Court with UGA's School of Law and president-elect of the State Bar of Georgia.
