Community Crimes Unit detectives this afternoon arrested two teenagers in separate cases for making electronic threats against the principals of their respective schools.
In this first case, an investigation begun on Saturday led to the arrest of a 17-year-old girl from Antioch High School for posting an Instagram threat against her principal. She is charged at Juvenile Court with communicating a threat to a school official.
In the second case, a 13-year-old boy from Madison Middle School is charged with emailing threats to his principal today. He likewise is charged at Juvenile Court with communicating a threat to a school official.
Threats against schools, their administrators and staff, and community institutions are taken very seriously by the MNPD. Those responsible, once identified, will be prosecuted.
