WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) pressed Army leadership at a House Armed Services Committee Readiness Subcommittee hearing about the relocation of jobs away from Rock Island Arsenal. The hearing provided an opportunity for Congressman Sorensen to share the stories and concerns he has been hearing from longtime Arsenal employees in the Quad Cities directly with Army Vice Chief of Staff General LaNeve.

Watch Sorensen's full line of questioning here.

"The hardworking men and women at Rock Island Arsenal-many of whom are veterans themselves-deserve better than a few days' notice to pick up their lives and relocate their families away from the Quad Cities. I will continue advocating to pause the Army's realignment efforts and ensure that they are working with Congress to best protect our national security and the men and women who serve our nation at the Arsenal," said Congressman Eric Sorensen.

Congressman Eric Sorensen represents Illinois' 17th District in the United States House of Representatives. Prior to serving in Congress, Sorensen was a local meteorologist in Rockford and the Quad Cities for more than 20 years. His district includes Illinois' Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria, and Bloomington-Normal.
