UH St. John Medical Center Advanced Wound Center Awarded for Exceptional Patient Outcomes

WESTLAKE, Ohio - UH St. John Advanced Wound Center has earned the Healogics® President's Circle Award, Healogics® highest honor recognizing wound care centers that demonstrate exceptional performance in clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational excellence.

The award is presented annually to a select group of wound care centers within the Healogics® national network that achieve sustained, top-tier performance across key quality measures, reflecting a continued commitment to patient-centered care and healing excellence.

In addition to receiving this top honor, the UH St. John Advanced Wound Center also earned Center of Excellence and Center of Distinction.

"I am incredibly proud of the UH St. John Advanced Wound Center team for their consistent dedication to delivering both high quality and compassionate care," said Melissa Schlabach, Program Director. "We see our Patients on a weekly basis, and they become part of our family. Many of our patients have been living with chronic wounds for years. When they come to us, and we heal those wounds, it is a life-changing experience. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to improve our patients' quality of life and being recognized for work we are truly passionate about is a bonus."

Specialists at UH Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Centers collaborate to coordinate care for patients across the UH system including limb salvage patients at UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute who often experience persistent wounds.

The UH St. John Advanced Wound Center is a member of the Healogics® network of over 600 wound care centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds.

Advanced wound care modalities may include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies. The UH St. John Advanced Wound Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an advanced treatment that can help accelerate healing in select chronic wounds by increasing oxygen delivery to affected tissue.
