A special invitation to the local public has been extended by the Cameron University music faculty for a concert led by student conductors leading campus ensembles. The event, featuring the Cameron University Concert Choir and Cameron University Concert Band, begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24, in the University Theatre.
Eighteen students in the Spring 2026 Advanced Conducting course will take their studies and talents to the stage to conduct the concert choir and band for their final concert of the semester.
The CU Concert Choir will open the evening with selections such as "Earth Song" by Frank Ticheli, "Time" by Jennifer Lucy Cook, and a choir arrangement of "Times They Are a-Changin'" by Bob Dylan. The Cameron Concert Band will then take the stage, performing works that include "Celebration Fanfare" by Stephen Reineke, "Critical Mass" by Todd Stalter, and selections from "Courtly Airs and Dances" by Ron Nelson.
Conducting the groups will be Mariah Baggs, Ryley Balius, Vanessa Cleophat, Darnell Collins, Jolene Drullinger, Kirstin Dunn, Owen Ellis, Brittany Hall, Matthew Hogg, Kaitlan Kaulaity, Darien King, Haylie Kousman, Seth Mccoy, Alexander Miller, Victoria Moody, Bellamarie Saucedo, Cynthia Vansant and Lillie Wright.
Cameron Concert Choir personnel are sopranos Divina D'Haiti, Kirstin Dunn, Kaitlan Kaulaity, Alyssa Price, Rubianna Ramirez and Aleah Webber; altos Sophia Avila Mariah Baggs, Vanessa Cleophat, Brittany Hall, Victoria Moody and Lillie Wright; tenors Peter Macias, Alexander Miller and Joshua Olenick; and bass Deanna Deville, Winston Hartley, Kaden Pierce and Billy Vickers.
Cameron Concert Band personnel include Matthew Hogg, Sarah Ray, Savannah Stephens, Bob Hoppe and Diane Pihulic on flute; Bellamarie Saucedo, Jolene Drullinger, Niley Welborn, Cynthia Vansant, Angel Romero, Fred Lopez, Lawton and Rolen Mayes on clarinet; Darien King, Collin Fallon, Hayley Kousman, Irmtraud Bryant and Kyle Daugherty on saxophone; Owen Ellis, Janette Garton and Tavien Todd on trumpet; Jacob Shaffer and Derik Daubenspeck on trombone; Tavien Todd on euphonium; Ryley Balius on tuba; and Darnell Collins, Alexander Cook, Damein Shugard, Mykayla Waller, Alyssa Price, Blaize Wright, Reece Henderson, Nicolas Raso on percussion.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for military with proper identification, seniors and students in grades K-8. Service fees will apply. Cameron students, faculty and staff receive a free ticket by showing valid CU identification.
