Western Washington University has introduced Amazon Hub lockers at select residence hall locations, offering students an additional, secure option for receiving Amazon packages on campus.
Mail Services will continue to manage campus mail operations as usual. U.S. Postal Service mail is picked up daily and distributed across campus, and packages from carriers such as UPS, Amazon, DHL, and FedEx are delivered through Mail Services. For residence halls, packages are typically delivered to each hall's front desk for student pickup.
The new Amazon lockers are intended to complement - not replace - existing residence hall mail services. They provide students with added flexibility if they prefer to have Amazon packages delivered to a locker.
Amazon Hub lockers are currently available at Higginson Hall and Ridgeway Commons and are accessible 24/7. When ordering from Amazon, students must select the locker location during checkout. Amazon will provide a unique pickup code through the Amazon Shopping app once the package is delivered.
Only packages addressed to the locker location will be routed to the lockers. Amazon orders sent to a student's on-campus mailing address will continue to be delivered to their residence hall front desk.
Additional locker installations are planned for the Fairhaven Complex and Haggard Hall later this spring and summer.
