ICANN Announces 2027 Nominating Committee Chair and Chair-Elect

Today, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced that the ICANN Board has appointed Charles Mok to serve as the 2027 Nominating Committee (NomCom) Chair, and Ron da Silva to serve as the 2027 NomCom Chair-Elect.

The NomCom is tasked with selecting key ICANN leadership positions, including some members of the ICANN Board of Directors and the Public Technical Identifiers Board, as well as the At-Large Advisory Committee, the Country Code Names Supporting Organization Council, and the Generic Names Supporting Organization Council. The NomCom is designed to exercise independent judgment in carrying out its responsibilities, free from external direction or control over its selection decisions.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address - a name or a number - into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
