On April 6, Columbia Police arrested Cassandra Albright, 29, of Kingdom City, following a series of vehicle crashes that occurred April 3 on Stevendave Drive and on Murrell Drive.
Police officers arrested Albright on charges of two counts of first-degree assault, special victim; leaving the scene of an accident; and driving while intoxicated.
At about 6:30 p.m. April 3, Columbia Police responded to multiple calls regarding a disturbance in the 4500 block of Stevendave Drive. Officers found that a vehicle driven by Albright had crashed into a residence occupied by four children and two adults.
Through their investigation, officers found that Albright had left the scene and had crashed her vehicle into a trailer and fence in the 2200 block of Murrell Drive. She also had aggressively accelerated toward two juvenile pedestrians in that area.
Albright then ran into a tree in the 4500 block of Waterloo Drive. She was taken to a local hospital with injuries sustained in the crashes.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652.
