USDA Names Trump Administration Appointees to the New Mexico Farm Service Agency State Committee

Albuquerque, N.M. - Jan. 14, 2026 - The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) today announced the appointment of five leaders in agriculture to serve on the New Mexico USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) state committee.

Members of the FSA state committee are appointed by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins and, in support of the Trump Administration's Farmers First commitment, members of the FSA state committee are responsible for the oversight of farm programs and county committee operations, resolving program delivery appeals from the agriculture community, maintaining cooperative relations with industry stakeholders and keeping producers informed about current FSA programs.

Each FSA state committee is comprised of three to five members including a designated chairperson. The individuals appointed to serve on this committee for New Mexico are:

  • Blake Curtis, Chair (Clovis) - Curtis oversees domestic and international seed supply operations. He also manages genetics, growth, and sales of the oldest registered Angus herd in New Mexico. He has served on various agricultural boards and in government roles.
  • Dustin Johnson, Member (Farmington) - Johnson previously worked in crop production on a local farm. He has nearly two decades of agricultural advocacy and leadership experience through the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau, New Mexico Cattle Growers Association, and multiple state-level agricultural advisory boards, including prior service on the USDA FSA New Mexico state committee.
  • Lynn Major, Member (Magdalena) - Major co-owns and operates a livestock operation where her work focuses on livestock health, grazing rotations, range and water resources. Additionally, Major is retired from nursing and has owned other businesses. She is a Beef Quality Assurance certified rancher and actively involved in the Cattle Growers' Association.
  • Dane Marley, Member (Roswell) - Marley is a fifth-generation rancher and farmer whose family agricultural enterprises span ranches, farms, and dairies across New Mexico. His operations include large-scale American Wagyu cow/calf production. He also produces alfalfa, corn, wheat, and barley to support dairy feed needs, and milking roughly 9,000 head of dairy cows.
  • Steve Sichler, Member (San Antonio) - Sichler is a sixth-generation farmer in the Middle Rio Grande Valley who leased his own farm at age fifteen and continues to build and manage his operation. He now manages his farm store and a farming operation that produces feed and produce.

"These individuals, selected by Secretary Rollins in partnership with key stakeholders in each state, are held in high regard in the agriculture industry and are entrusted to ensure FSA programs are delivered in a manner consistent with federal farm policy and in the best interest of all agricultural producers in their state," said FSA Administrator Bill Beam. "Their appointment to the FSA state committee is a testament to their standing in the industry and their dedication to the agriculture industry, rural America and President Trump's America First, Farmers First policies."

FSA helps America's farmers, ranchers and forest landowners invest in, improve, protect and expand their agricultural operations through the delivery of agricultural programs for all Americans. FSA implements agricultural policy, administers credit and loan programs, and manages conservation, commodity, disaster recovery and marketing programs through a national network of state and county offices and locally elected county committees.
