Defence Secretary Emphasises Continued Support for War Veterans at Public Day Event

Reaffirming the Ministry's unwavering commitment to the welfare of war veterans and the families of fallen heroes, Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) presided over the Public Day programme at the Ministry premises today (October 29).

The initiative delivered crucial support to retired and disabled veterans, alongside the families of fallen heroes, by providing a platform to directly address their grievances and concerns.

During the programme, the Defence Secretary offered a patient hearing to their appeals and promptly instructed Ministry officials to take the required action to resolve the issues brought forward. He also underscored the importance of ensuring the efficient execution of all welfare programmes aimed at their well-being.
