First Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2026

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic convened the First Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2026, for Wednesday, 15 April 2026, starting at 11 am.

The National Assembly Speaker proposed the following agenda:

  1. Motion of No-Confidence in the Government, submitted by 62 members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was opened to the sounds of the national anthem of the Republic of Serbia, performed by the mixed choir of the Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence "Stanislav Binicki".

National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic noted that through the use of the electronic voting system it was determined that 47 MPs were present in the hall, meaning that the majority of the total number of MPs was absent and therefore the assembly lacked the quorum required to determine the agenda.

In view of this, in accordance with Article 88, paragraph 2 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, the National Assembly Speaker suspended the work of the National Assembly until a quorum is secured, that is, until 12.15 pm.

After the break, the Chair, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Marina Ragus, stated that the electronic voting system has ascertained that 32 MPs were present in the hall, i.e. that the majority of the total number of MPs was absent, thus the conditions to start the National Assembly session have not been met, which is why, in accordance with Article 88, paragraph 3 of the Rules of Procedure, she adjourned the session to the following day, Thursday, 16 April 2026, starting at 10 am.
