Chairman of the Thailand-Myanmar Joint Boundary Committee (Thai Side) visits Singkhon-Mawtaung Special Point of Entry, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

On 18 April 2025, Mr. Dusit Manapan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Thailand-Myanmar Joint Boundary Committee (JBC) (Thai Side), led a delegation from the Ministry and the Royal Thai Survey Department to Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The visit included an inspection of the area and a briefing from local authorities and the private sector on the current security and economic situation along the Thailand - Myanmar border near the Singkhon - Mawtaung Special Point of Entry.

The discussions were held with local government agencies and private sector representatives on the progress of upgrading the Singkhon-Mawtaung Special Point of Entry to an international point of entry. Views were exchanged on matters of mutual interest, particularly regarding trade and the economic potential of the Singkhon - Mawtaung Special Point of Entry, as well as the current security situation along the Thailand-Myanmar border, taking into account the ongoing situation in Myanmar.
