Netherlands Ambassador Calls on Defence Secretary at Ministry of Defence

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka, H.E. Wiebe De Boer, paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at the Ministry of Defence premises today (17 February).

The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding and friendly relations between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands. Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, including avenues for enhancing bilateral defence cooperation.

The Defence Secretary expressed his appreciation and reaffirmed Sri Lanka's commitment to strengthening ties through regular dialogue and partnership.

The Ambassador conveyed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet and reiterated the Netherlands' willingness to further deepen cooperation with Sri Lanka in mutually beneficial areas.

The Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka, Mr. Iwan Rutjens, was also present during the discussion.
