Water Emergency @ 22800 Block of Richton Square. Rd.

Incident 2024-02356: Water Emergency at 22800 Block Richton Square Road

On the morning of September 29th, the Richton Park Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle in the water on the 22800 block of Richton Square Road. First arriving crews found a vehicle completely submerged in a retention pond, with law enforcement personnel attempting to rescue a victim.

Fire crews deployed water rescue equipment, and requested additional equipment, including certified divers to locate the victim. The victim, a black male, was recovered from the water and transported to a local medical facility in grave condition. Two firefighters and a police officer were sent to local medical facilities as a precaution.

The Richton Park Fire Department was assisted by multiple fire agencies, as well as dive teams. The Village of Richton Park credits our firefighters and paramedics, as well as those that assisted, with a job well done.
