HARRISBURG - Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) today announced the Borough of Linesville has been awarded a $3.56 million grant to replace waterlines along Penn and Mercer streets.
The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) funding will be used to replace about 7,000 feet of 6-inch, 8-inch and 12-inch waterline. About 90 service connections and 14 fire hydrants are included in the project, along with 15 new connections to the existing distribution system.
"Accessible, clean drinking water is essential, and this grant will ensure area residents continue to have access for decades to come," Roae said. "Although infrastructure projects can be costly, they play a vital role in protecting our residents. I remain dedicated to securing state funding to move important community projects like this forward."
PENNVEST funds sewer, storm water and drinking water projects throughout the Commonwealth through low-interest loans and grants.
