Bilateral meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan and the United Kingdom

On 26 February 2026, meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, with the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom Ms. Yvette Cooper was held in London.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral issues across political, economic, educational, cultural, security, and migration spheres. It was emphasized that the Republic of Tajikistan has substantial untapped potential for attracting British investment in mining, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, as well as science and education.

Particular attention was given to the facilitation of visa procedures, which would contribute to the expansion of business contacts and tourist flows, as well as create favorable conditions for the establishment of direct flights between Dushanbe and London.

The parties also exchanged views on regional and international cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a ceremony for the signing of a Memorandums of Understanding in the fields of education and mining was held.
