Section of Griffin Road to close permanently for US 84 Connector in Liberty County

WHAT: Contractors for Georgia DOT will permanently close a portion of Griffin Road to provide for the US 84 Connector roadway on July 27 in Walthourville. The section of Griffin Road to be closed is between Carter Road and Pamela Drive. Two Cul-de-sacs will be constructed on Griffin Road on each side of the US 84 Connector. The US 84 Connector is 2.6 miles of new roadway being constructed to connect US 84 to SR 119 and alleviate heavy traffic loads through residential areas.

WHEN: Griffin Road closure is scheduled for Monday, July 27.

WHERE: The closure will be northwest of Carter Road and southeast of Pamela Drive, with two cul-de-sacs built on Griffin Road at the US 84 Connector site.

Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
