R.J. Corman’s RJCK, OmniTRAX’s CTXR to join BNSF Railway’s Shortline Select™ program

Date
Sept 17, 2026

Program now includes 10 shortlines, expanding customers' access to BNSF's network

FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 8, 2026 - BNSF Railway, one of North America's leading transportation companies, announced this week that two new shortlines, R.J. Corman's Tennessee Terminal in Memphis (RJCK) and OmniTRAX's Central Texas & Colorado River (CTXR) have been added to its Shortline Select™ program.

Shortline Select™, announced by BNSF in the fall of 2024, allows shortline railroads to share BNSF's ongoing commitment to growth and superior service by providing expanded opportunities for customers to reach an even broader consumer base. The program combines the benefit of shortline customized service with BNSF's vast network reach, which spans 32,500 miles, 28 states and three Canadian provinces.

"Shortline Select™ is designed to make it easier for customers to grow with rail," said BNSF Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Tom Williams. "By adding RJ Corman - Memphis and OmniTRAX - CTXR, we're expanding a program that pairs local expertise and relationships with BNSF's broad network reach. That combination helps create a more seamless experience for customers looking for efficient, reliable ways to move their products."

"Selection of the Tennessee Terminal (RJCK) for BNSF's Shortline Select™ program reflects R. J. Corman's long standing partnership with BNSF and our continued focus on supporting customer success," said R.J. Corman Chief Commercial Officer - Railroads Shannon Drown. "Our growth in the Memphis, Tennessee market alongside BNSF has been driven by delivering integrated, reliable service and partnering on strategic initiatives with our customers, including industrial development efforts to bring new business to the network."

"OmniTRAX is honored to have our Central Texas & Colorado River (CTXR) join the BNSF Shortline Select™ program in the same year that this line was re-opened for service," said OmniTRAX Chief Commercial Officer Ryan Dreier. "Central Texas is thriving and Shortline Select™ further reinforces our BNSF partnership by providing expanded capacity and rail solutions for customers operating in this rapidly growing region."

In the program's first two years, Shortline Select™ has shown proven results in service performance by reducing car dwell, improving interchange fluidity and growing traffic volume across the participating shortline railroads.

As a participant of the program, shortline railroads collaborate with BNSF on economic development and growth initiatives through:

Premier Transloads - Transload providers may be included in BNSF's Premier Transload Program, a network of more than 400 transloaders across the BNSF system.

Certified Sites - Select locations may be eligible for BNSF's Certified Site designation, which is an inventory of available, rail-ready industrial sites that are pre-approved for development, increasing speed to market.

Shortline Select™ shortlines partner with BNSF on a suite of operational process improvements and have pre-defined economic arrangements with BNSF that enable expedited responsiveness to customer rate requests.
