Lewisville Planning Director Richard Luedke named AICP Fellow

Lewisville Planning Director Richard Luedke has been elected to the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) College of Fellows.

This is the highest honor AICP bestows upon a member.

"Being selected as part of the 2026 class of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners is a tremendous honor," said Luedke. "This has been made possible through the love and support of my family, the mentorship and encouragement from my colleagues at APA Texas Chapter, and the teamwork and collaboration with my peers in the communities of Wichita Falls, Keller, and Argyle earlier in my career; and for the past 11 years, with the incredible army of public servants that embody the City of Lewisville."

Luedke began working for the City of Lewisville in 2015 as the Planning Manager and was promoted to Planning Director in 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a Master of Urban Planning.

During his time in Lewisville, Luedke has been involved in a lot of the growth and development of the city. He says seeing many of the ideas from the Lewisville 2025 vision plan come to fruition has been very rewarding and satisfying. He's especially proud of the revitalization of Old Town.

"My journey over the past 32 years of my career has resulted in game-changing transformations in all the communities where I worked," said Luedke. "I am sincerely thankful that I have had the privilege to work alongside such dedicated and passionate individuals and greatly appreciate the lasting friendships made over the years."

AICP Fellows are nominated and selected by their peers to recognize and honor their outstanding contributions as professional planners. The outcomes of their individual efforts left demonstrably significant and transformational improvements to the field of planning and the communities they served. All Fellows are long-time members of AICP and have achieved excellence in professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, and community service and leadership.
