At Call of Duty, our goal is simple: we want every player to enjoy a fair, fun, and welcoming experience. Combating disruptive behavior is something we work on every day. It takes ongoing effort, smarter tools, and honest feedback from the community. Together, we're continuing to make progress as we build a better experience for all of our community.
Since the launch of Black Ops 6 and across Call of Duty: Warzone:
In total, that's more than 16 million actions taken, over double the number of actions from two years ago, showing how far our systems have come, reflecting ongoing advancements in scale, speed, and precision across our moderation efforts.
Player feedback helps us understand what's working and what still needs improvement. Here's what we've seen so far:
These results show that progress is real, but we know there's still more to do.
Black Ops 7 and Warzone moderation systems will soon reach more players in more places than ever before.
Since 2023, language support for voice moderation has doubled in the number of languages supported and regional coverage now extends to five continents. Our goal is to make sure every player benefits from strong, real-time protection no matter where they play or what language they speak.
Our moderation strategy is powered by Activision, supported by trusted partners. Together, these systems combine proactive detection and community reporting to identify and act on Code of Conduct violations. We use Modulate's ToxMod for voice chat and Microsoft's Community Sift for text chat, clan tags, and usernames, which contribute to the detection layer within our broader moderation ecosystem. Activision's technology integrates these capabilities with our proprietary technology and enforcement systems, ensuring that player protections are fast, accurate, and consistent across Call of Duty.
This strategy has led to faster moderation response times, including instant username checks upon creation, proactive voice and text moderation, and improved automation in reporting flows. It has also advanced our ability to detect violations more precisely and informed how we design systems that encourage positive play.
This year, we've focused on updates that make it easier for players to take part in building a better experience together:
Improved "Thanks" Prompt Coming Soon to Call of Duty: Warzone
New Communication Preset Arriving on Launch Day of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Report Confirmation and Status Updates Coming Soon
Call of Duty is at its best when everyone plays together. Positive play strengthens every match, and we're focused on recognizing and supporting those moments.
We've continued our collaboration with Caltech, one of the world's leading universities, to study how players interact in-game. This research helps us understand what drives both positive and negative behaviors, and it ensures our systems are grounded in science. You can read more about this work at research.activision.com.
Combating disruptive behavior takes constant attention, and we're committed to doing the work. Our teams monitor, review, and update our systems every day to make sure Call of Duty remains a place defined by fair competition and respect.
Looking ahead, we'll continue expanding language support, refining moderation tools, and building features that give players more control over their experiences. Each year we're seeing real progress, and we'll keep pushing forward to make Call of Duty a better space for everyone.
