Bank of Hawai'i Announces New Executive Vice President Nathan Lee

HONOLULU

August 3rd, 2026

Nathan Lee recently joined Bank of Hawai'i as executive vice president and executive director of strategic initiatives, where he will provide enterprise-wide leadership to shape, direct and oversee execution of the bank's highest-priority strategic initiatives. He will oversee complex, cross-enterprise transformation efforts, shape governance structures and operating models, and provide executive-level insight on execution health, systemic risk, and organizational readiness. Lee will also partner with the bank's team on its Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program, helping advance and strengthen compliance efforts and the broader control framework.

Lee brings more than 20 years of experience in public and private financial statement audits, risk assessment, internal controls, governance, and advisory services. Prior to joining the bank, he worked at Ernst & Young LLP across the firm's Irvine, California, and Honolulu offices, where he managed a portfolio of clients in the financial services industry, including commercial banking, consumer lending, fintech, and captive insurance. He also led recruiting for the Honolulu office assurance practice and established the EY Excellence Fund to provide scholarships for University of Hawai'i students.

A Certified Public Accountant licensed in Hawai'i and California, Lee is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Hawaii Society of CPAs. He holds a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Lee most recently served for eight years on the Junior Achievement of Hawai'i Board of Directors and its Audit Committee and actively holds a leadership role within his church.
