BUCKEYE, AZ (January 26, 2026): The Buckeye Police Department has received some questions and concerns about outside agencies, more specifically, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. We are sharing important information about our policies, procedures and values, we hope, will offer clarity and insight.

The Buckeye Police Department is committed to building and maintaining strong community partnerships, ensuring safety and security and enhancing quality of life for all who live, work and visit our city.

Buckeye Police in the Community:

Buckeye Police officers will always identify themselves while performing official duties. Officers responding to calls for service or conducting enforcement actions do not wear full-face coverings, and their uniforms clearly display Buckeye Police Department identifiers. If someone encounters an individual claiming to be a Buckeye Police officer who refuses to identify themselves or lacks department uniform markings, we urge them to call 911 for immediate verification.

Important Clarifications:

Buckeye Police officers do not enforce federal immigration laws. Our role is focused on enforcing local and state laws to keep our community safe. While Buckeye Police do not participate in federal immigration enforcement, we may collaborate with federal partners on serious criminal investigations including violent crime, drug trafficking and child exploitation-always within constitutional boundaries.
