Previously, these permits were processed through the Single PDF review option, which is limited to plans of 35 or fewer pages. The migration of Residential Batch permits to ProjectDox is the first step in an effort to move all residential permits to ProjectDox.

ProjectDox is the permit review software used by the City of Portland for many types of residential and commercial projects. It is also used by several neighboring cities and counties for similar types of projects.

There are many advantages to using ProjectDox. A few of those include:

  • Customers may submit plans greater than 35 pages.
  • Customers can upload, view and revise plans, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, once they have an assigned task.
  • Customers can better track the review of their permits.
  • It provides greater transparency into the permit review process.
  • Customers can engage with reviewers in plan mark-ups.
  • It can reduce the time needed to review plans and issue permits.

More information on how to use ProjectDox can be found here.

Customers with questions on how to use ProjectDox are encouraged to call 503-823-7300 or submit questions online. Permitting & Development staff will respond as soon as possible.
