Cathedral City’s Discover Digest

Hello Cathedral City Community,
I hope this message finds you well! I'm excited to share some wonderful Halloween festivities coming up this weekend that I think you'll love.
First off, mark your calendars for Sunday, October 26 when the City of Cathedral City hosts our annual Halloween Spooktacular in Downtown Cathedral City, right in front of City Hall (68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero). This fantastic event, presented by State Farm Agent Phil Goodge, runs from noon to 3 p.m. and features an incredible 60,000+ pieces of candy for trick-or-treating!
This is more than just candy, though-think of it as Cathedral City's version of National Night Out. You'll have the chance to meet and learn about our Cathedral City Police and Fire departments through special demonstrations and exhibitions. It's a wonderful opportunity to get to know the people who serve our community every day. Plus, there will be Halloween costume contests with bicycles given away each hour, music, family games, and special performances throughout the afternoon. Best of all… admission and parking are completely free!
But the fun starts even earlier! On Saturday, October 25 at 9 a.m., bring your furry friends to the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest at Panorama Park Dog Park (28905 Avenida Maravilla). Sponsored by Grocery Outlet and presented by our Parks and Community Events Commission, this contest features categories for both small and large dogs, with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category. There's even a prize for best dog/owner costume combo! Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the contest kicking off at 9:30 a.m.
And don't forget-the Halloween spirit continues with Spooktacular Movie Night on Tuesday, October 28 at dusk, when the Desert Recreation District presents Hocus Pocus at the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater (68526 Ave Lalo Guerrero). These free, family-friendly screenings are perfect for a cozy evening out. Visit myrecreationdistrict.com/Movies for more information.
Be sure to check out CCTV Host Conrad Angel Corral's promotional video showcasing both the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest and Halloween Spooktacular on the City's Facebook page, Instagram, YouTube channel, or on CCTV via Spectrum Cable Channel 17.
I want to extend a huge thank you to all our generous sponsors who make these community events possible, including our title sponsor State Farm Agent Phil Goodge, along with Mary Pickford Theatre is D'Place, S.C.R.A.P. Gallery, our Cathedral City Police and Fire departments, Desert Recreation District, Raising Cane's, Grocery Outlet, and many more wonderful local businesses and organizations listed below.
I hope to see you and your families at these events! Let's make this Halloween season spooktacular together.
