World Food Daycommemorates the 80thanniversary of the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO).
On October 16, 2025, World Food Day celebrations in the United States will include the World Food Day Convoy featuring mass donations by more than 20 companies, along with organized runs, walks, and bike rides.
Here in Philadelphia, in-person or virtual, World Food Day-themed eventsare happening on or around the special day. These include Temple University's World Food Day Festival, Moonstone Arts Center, The Discovery Center, and more.
About the Food and Agriculture Organization
FAOwas founded after World War II, a time when agricultural systems across the globe were devastated and millions of people were starving. Since then, more than 130 countries across multiple disciplines have continued to collaborate to fight food insecurity and promotehealthy outcomes forvulnerable populations.
