Three Budget Work Sessions Scheduled in June

It's budget season in Walker County. The Walker County Board of Commissioners will hold three budget work sessions in June so department heads can explain their funding requests for fiscal year 2027.

Departments scheduled to present include Planning, Code Enforcement, Fire Rescue, Roads, Economic Development, Animal Services, Civic Center, Transit, Shop, Buildings/Facilities, Elections and the Coroner, among others.

Budget work sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. on June 9, 10, and 11 at Courthouse Annex I (aka the County Administration Building), which is located at 101 S Duke Street in LaFayette.

The proposed FY27 budget will be presented to the Board during a special called meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 26.

Walker County's budget year runs October 1 through September 30.
